Generations

About Us

Plymouth Intergenerational Coalition is a non-profit organization that built Generations, our Intergenerational Community Center facility. Generations is a 503(c) organization.

Generations shares its building with other non-profit organizations: Safe Harbor of Sheboygan County, The Family Resource Center of Sheboygan County, Growing Generations Childcare Center, and the Sheboygan County Aging and Disability Resource Center. Each member in this coalition work together to serve the Plymouth, WI and surrounding areas with tools and resources to live and work in the area.

Our Intergenerational Model is unique to our area. Research shows that intergenerational programming benefits all generations involved. Younger generations benefit by improving verbal skills, critical thinking, and tolerance. They also experience a boost to academics, staying away from troublesome behaviors, and overall having a better outlook for life. Likewise, older generations experience a reduction in feelings of loneliness or isolation and enjoy learning new perspectives on the world we all share. Also, middle generations have an opportunity to give back to their community through volunteer work. They share their skills, serve on the Board of Directors and committees, and attend classes and programs. Most importantly, all involved benefit by breaking down misconceptions and stereotypes about other generations.

Generations means different things to different people, but above all else, it is a place for people to gather and be seen. All are welcome to join our Intergenerational Community.
